This sermon was based on the passage from 1 Cor 3: 1-9. Within it is one of my favourite pieces of scripture - 'I planted, Apollos watered, but God does the growing'. Before this Paul does a bit of shaming calling out the Corinthians faith as childish or not ready for solid food, because they are quarreling and jealousy. Too often this is the case in the church. We pretend we're grown up churches and people get burned by shameful behaviour found within. What's the answer? What if we all declared that we're grown up churches at all and instead declared we need God's love present to continue helping teach and guide and be there for us as we grow. Paul Left the Corinthians to head for Ephesus but they weren't alone... they weren't without God. We too aren't without God in the maturing process of our lives of faith either!
