1927 - 2017
Chalmers Presbyterian and Trinity Methodist Congregations united officially on July 4, 1927 to become part of The United Church of Canada.The following excerpt comes from a copy of the first meeting found in the Record Book. The meeting was well attended with presumably lots of food.
"The First Annual Congregational Meeting of the United Congregations was held in the basement of the Church on Wed. Eve, Jan. 18, 1928. The meeting took the form of a chicken supper at which about 200 sat down to a bounteous repast. After supper the pastor, Rev. A.E. Elliott took charge of the meeting opening it with reading and prayer."
