Kintore Chalmers United Church Staff

Minister Rev. Douglas Peck
I came to Chalmers in August of 2009 after finishing my Master's in Divinity from Queen's Theological College. Since then I continue to be amazed with how blessed and fortunate I am to serve this congregation and it's surrounding community.  Many ministers in this day and age are doing ministry as a second or third career career and I am no different.  Before going back to school, I spent some time in fundraising for the United Way of Greater Toronto, and after that I worked for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in the Human Resources department.  After experiencing the call to ministry earlier in life, I received the advice from a minister to, "avoid the call as long as you can until you can't avoid it anymore".  After exploring other career paths and witnessing the world from the perspective of regular working people, I could no longer avoid God's call.  I love my job!  Everyday I am challenged to find new ways to tell the people that I serve that they are loved by a power so great that it not only gives their lives meaning, but it empowers them to help spread this message onto others!  That is the way of Christ as I understand it and here at Chalmers we'd love for you to join us in dreaming up new ways to make this happen.  I'd like to give a special thanks for Jane Henderson and Barb Irvine for making this website so accessible and allowing us to reach out to all of you through the internet.  I hope you enjoy it, because everyone that you'll find within these pages are the hands and feet that make Chalmers the blessing it is!  Peace!

Children/Youth Program Coordinator Judy McCauley
I was born on a farm north of St. Marys. The 1st half of my adult life I lived in Stratford, where  I raised my son.  The 2nd half I am happily living in Zorra township.  I loved spending time with children but it took a couple different careers before I realized  I  could make a career of that!
For 5 years I co-ordinated the Before and After School program at Zorra Highland Park.  I found having two months off in summer was just too long to go without playing, so, I also   volunteered with the Embro Vacation Bible School.
I am newly retired and worried my playing days were done.  But God had another plan!  Now I look forward to one day a week when I get my 'kid fix'.

Welcome Edgar Suski:  Chalmers United Church has new leadership leading the choir and music.  Edgar Suski completed his Bachelor of Music and Masters degrees in piano performance at Western University. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in composition at Western University. Edgar has enjoyed participating in music workshops in Canada and abroad, and holds a diploma from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, Poland. While a student, he has frequently been asked to play in masterclasses, most notably for Dang Thai Son, laureate of the first prize in the Xth International Chopin Competition. In the winter of 2011 Edgar won the opportunity to perform Ravel’s Piano Concerto in G with the UWO Symphony Orchestra. Edgar is excited to begin his tenure as Music Director, and believes he will learn a lot from his experiences with the wonderful community at Chalmer’s United Church.

Administrative Assistant Kay Calvin
I have been attending Chalmers and singing in the choir since 1980. Although I grew up as an Anglican, this church has certainly become my home.
I am a chemist by education, but interestingly enough, that profession requires outstanding organizational skills, time management and computer expertise. I bring all of these skills to the position of Rev. Doug’s Admin Assistant.
I actually enjoy organizing and creating PowerPoint presentations allows me to use my creative side. I have recently retired and look forward to being part of the ministry team at Chalmers.

Church Treasurer Marg Ogar
For as long as I can remember, I have been involved in the work and life of Chalmers United Church. My family have been connected for generations and their hands did lots of work for the community that Chalmers serves. I am a member of the choir, and have been actively involved in the Sunday school in past years. More recently I took over the role of our church treasurer. I have a passion and skill for book work and try to faithfully attend our meetings to keep everyone posted on how we are doing financially.
